Privacy policy

HolyroodPalace.com is a static website. It has no accounts, comments, forms or newsletter, so we never ask you for personal information.

What we collect

Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies or local storage, does not follow you across other websites and does not build a profile of you.

Technical data. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Email. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply. We don’t add you to any list.

Cookies

This site does not set any cookies of its own. GetYourGuide sets one only if you choose to load its tours panel, described below.

GetYourGuide

Some pages offer a panel of live tours from GetYourGuide. It only loads if you press “Show live tours and prices”. When it loads, GetYourGuide sets a cookie called visitor_id so that it can tell a booking came from this site. Many links on this site also go to GetYourGuide’s website. When the panel loads, or when you follow a link and book, GetYourGuide collects data and sets cookies under its own privacy policy. Our links carry a code that tells GetYourGuide we sent you, so that we can be paid a commission. We see commission reports, not your name, contact details or payment details.

Your rights

You have rights over your personal data under UK and EU data protection law, including the right to ask what we hold and to have it deleted. Because we hold almost nothing, the only personal data we are likely to have is an email you sent us. To ask about it, email hello@holyroodpalace.com.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date below.
